New year, wanting to kinda start over with things here. I spent way too long venting about life, and I don't want to constantly see that from myself. I need to move on, and remain a bit more positive for my own mental health. As such, I set everything from 2025 back as private.
I also disconnected my secondary monitor to help me stay focused while I work, as even with the extra screen space for notes and such, I kept letting myself get a bit too distracted by things like setting up window positions. It also gives me more space on the desk in general, which I'm gonna need for a few items I brought back in from the storage building. I'm actually keeping them on the shelf just below the side portion of my desk.
I have had copies of four books sitting out in storage, because I started giving up on learning to do any coding. However, I wanna get back into the groove and try again. Learn C on the Mac is probably going to be secondary at this point, as I want to go through Learn Objective-C on the Mac and Learn Cocoa on the Mac first to learn a bit about making some things in Snow Leopard in particular, since it's what I use for my daily driver OS. The other book, Beginning Mac OS X Snow Leopard Programming is going to be the first thing I go through in general, as it covers a lot of the basic options as a crash course, rather than focusing on a particular language or concept.
Eventually, I'd like to build a new tracker music player to replace XimpleMOD on my setup, as well as some new widgets for Dashboard. Maybe see about making a nice MIDI player as well, since I've yet to find one for this particular era of OS X. Nothing on par with the legendary WinAmp, anyway.
That's going to be a later thing, but a goal is a goal. It's something I can rely on to drive myself forward.
