So, earlier today, my Apple Magic Mouse 1 started having issues. It stopped registering horizontal movement, and kept dropping connection with my MacBook. As a result, I started using my Apple Wireless Mouse (the original white polycarbonate one) until I could get another multibutton mouse for games.

While at Walmart to get some much-needed shelves and a new set of headphones to wear while I work (especially at night), I settled on a Logitech "Advanced Wireless Mouse 2" (M550L). Well, no Bluetooth because it won't even show up on my ancient hardware (unlike the headphones, which paired instantly), but it comes with a USB nano receiver.

For a daily use mouse, this thing is kinda made of suck. Super sensitive, with a mouse wheel that scrolls based on how far you yeet the damned thing, and virtually no tactile feedback for clicking it. In fact, it's so stiff that I kept questioning if it was actually working, until I noticed Interweb had opened a few dozen background tabs. The primary buttons are...okay. The silent action stuff feels more like a gimmick than something useful. But the tracking on this thing made me pull down the speed settings in System Preferences, even compared to my Apple Wireless Mouse. I went across both of my monitors with only about half a turn of my wrist.

There's no way in hell I could game with this thing if I didn't turn that speed down. That said, the mouse wheel isn't too bad there. Having it so odd seems to help with scrolling through inventory, and weapons in games like DOOM and Quake. But that movement acceleration was insane.

I'm definitely keeping to my AWM for editing my stories (one button is plenty, zero is better), but for gaming, this cheap(-ish) Logitech mouse isn't too bad. Just wish the Bluetooth worked backwards with my system.

That said, the onn Wireless On-Ear headphones I got are really nice. They paired right away over Bluetooth, sound pretty good for being only about $15 USD, and... Well, as someone who typically needs over-the-ear headphones due to physical issues, these are actually pretty comfortable. The padding is thin, which is perfect for me, and they don't grip tightly to my head like most on-ear headsets do. I like these things. Definitely worth the money I paid.
