solon_kitten | When good news is...good?

Finally got in touch with my uncle. He and his wife have been super sick with the flu, which is why I couldn't get in touch with him easily. He's agreed to split the house value at $28,500, which means we're looking for a way to get that money to him. He's giving us time, and I'm not gonna waste it letting my fears get to me again.

His reaction to my description of the house was quite telling. He didn't realize just how bad things were here, though his house isn't in much better shape. I wish I could use my skills to help him get his house back in a better state, but money is the problem both of us have, and materials have a cost. Even recycled materials, in many cases, are expensive right now. I'd love to help him convert his house into something more akin to an Earthship, especially since it would help with being in Tornado Alley, but laws and housing regulations make that difficult here.

We'll see what the future brings. There's still a chance we're gonna be looking for a new home, but maybe that has shrunken a bit
