Small Steps
Dec. 12th, 2025 12:32 amHomeowners Insurance had to be purchased, but we have it. The loan process is moving forward, which means we're one step closer to possibly saving the house. Insurance inspection went without issue as well.
There have been problems, though. We need to replace the thermostat after the backup batteries corroded, we need to wire the thermostat to be in heater only mode, we have two light fixtures to replace (one blew, one has a broken globe)... There's so much to do, but nothing we can do about it until all this is done and over with regarding the house. At least the loan appraisal will be external only, and the externals are pretty much fine here (outside of the deck).
I had my 40th birthday on the 10th. My mates made me food, and one got me a nice pitcher for the makeshift kitchenette I've been assembling for my room. A close friend gave me a Space Control Alpha badge, a Zyuranger coin, a Lucario mini-backpack, a Bonsly plush, and a new Pokémon-themed journal. I got myself a new shirt, a new bluetooth gaming controller, and finally ordered a bed (futon couch) to replace the one I had to trash from the bed bug days. The latter isn't being constructed until we know things for sure are solved, but eh... I look forward to not feeling like my quads and hamstrings are tearing apart in the mornings.
At least things are moving forward for the time being. It's something.
