AI-centric games? Meh...
Jan. 24th, 2024 12:02 amHearing about PalWorld, the Global Game Jam debacle, and people bemoaning how "Gaming is just going to turn into another industry ruined by generative AI!". And I just look over at my MacBook. It has a few native Mac games, DOS and old Windows games galore, emulators, etc..., all installed as I find them.
The thing is, Itch.io alone is proof enough that people who actually care about making games will always have a place to go to. Even if the so-called Triple-A companies go down that route, fuck them. They can shut down like the rest of their ilk. There will always be people who make games with love, and the community just needs to focus on them instead of the corporate fuckwads who steal their assets.
Promote indie devs. Promote their games. Stream yourself playing them. Talk about them. Drown out the assholes.
That's what needs to happen. Not the constant doom and gloom FauxNews bullshit I keep seeing from social media and the like.
